Two public health officials have saved the life of a first-time mother who was in labour in the middle of the Dambai road.
The two, Rita Wurapa and Rose Ayivor who were on a monitoring trip to Dambai and Nkwanta when they came across a woman in labour on a motorbike on the Dambai road.
According to reports, a crowd started gathering when motor rider and husband of the screaming distressed woman stopped in the middle of the Dambai road in an attempt to convey her to a nearby health facility.
Chancing on the incident, Rita Wurapa and her colleague delivered the woman of the baby after marshalling women standing by to form a screen with their clothing.
The mother and newly born baby were sent to the hospital and are currently in good condition
