The Vice President of of the Republic of Ghana, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia has commissioned the 100km Kumasi Inner Ring Roads and Adjacent Streets Project.
The project forms part of the NPP’s great vision to make roads accessible in the country as promised during their election campaign. The municipalities and sub-metros in Kumasi who will benefit from this inner roads project include Nhyiaeso (14.4 km), Oforikrom (13km), Manhyia (11.8km), Asokwa (13.2km), Subin (13.0km), Tafo Pankron (4.5km), Suame (6km), Bantama (11.2km) and Kwadaso (13.5 km).
In a colorful ceremony attended by chiefs and other dignitaries, the Vice President announced that since 2017, a total of 1,180km of roads have been constructed in the Ashanti Region. He said their administration hopes to do more in the years ahead of them in office.
This ongoing roads construction projects have been greatly commended by residents in Kumasi since they believe it will help ease vehicular congestion that has taken over the Ashanti Regional Capital.
Currently, the extention of the Ofankor Barrier – Nsawam road in Greater Accra is under construction to facilitate the movement of vehicles.
