Experienced midfielder Sulley Ali Muntari says he will extend his contract with MTN FA Cup Champions, Accra Hearts of Oak in order to be part of the team for next season activities.
“I signed a six months contract with Hearts of Oak. I will renew it to be part of the team for Africa” he noted.
Muntari has had a good relationship with the Phobians since his arrival. He was influential in their league and FA campaign. Hearts finished 6th in the league and defended the FA Cup.
By virtue of the FA Cup success, Hearts stand the chance to represent Ghana in the CAF Confederation Cup. Hearts last visit to Africa early this year was a disaster. They conceded ten goals in their last two away games against WAC of Morocco and Soura of Algeria.
Hearts is eager to make amends in their next attempt. Accordingly, they are looking around to sign new players to strengthen where they fall short. Already, midfield workaholic Benjamin Afutu has returned to the team after a short stint outside.
The inclusion of Sulley Muntari who has three world cup plus several Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) experience will obviously add value to the Hearts team. Hearts were African champions in the year 2000 and 2005.
