Former Ghanaian professional footballer Charles Taylor has said Hearts of Oak player and former Inter Milan midfielder, Sulley Ali Muntari does not have what it takes currently to play for the Black Stars.
According to the former footballer who was also part of Ghana’s under 20 team, he enjoys watching the midfielder play in matches but does not think he has what it takes to play for the national team as of now.
Speaking on the Accra Chat segment of Nkran Kwanso on Thursday, 10 March 2021, the former footballer told show host, Docta Kay that: “Sulley and I played under 20, Sulley is a good player but he is not good for Black Stars currently.â€
“I’m excited when Sulley is playing in a match, I never miss any of the Hearts games because of Sulley but if it’s this Black Stars game against Nigeria, Sulley can’t. In subsequent games, yes if he has what it takes.â€
The former Black Stars player also believes that the young footballers must be given the opportunity to play for the National team too.
“Sometimes let’s speak to the facts. Let’s use the youngsters for Black Stars. I haven’t said Sulley can’t play, let’s all watch him, he doesn’t have the skills it takes currently to play for the Black Stars. But the more he plays, he’ll pick up,†he added.
