Popular sport presenter Patrick Osei Agyemang aka Countryman Songo broke down today on Fire for Fire as he eulogized his grandmother Eno Ama Serwaa who passed on Wednesday.
The award winning TV personality recounted how he met his grandmother bedridden at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital last week after surgery.
“Even though I met her alive, God had already revealed to me that she was leaving this world. She had to undergo a second surgery after the first one was unsuccessful. I wept uncontrollably at the hospital because I can confidently tell you that I have her spirit and I already knew what the outcome of the yet to be conducted surgery would be,” he said on Fire for Fire Thursday.
According to him, his grandmother passed on while he was on the show yeasterday but no one had the courage to tell him at the time.
“After the show, I saw many missed calls from family and friends I haven’t heard from in a long while. I called back only to be hit hard by the unfortunate news,” he said.
The tearful Songo promised to honour his beloved grandmother who raised him right from his childhood days up until he took the course of journalism.
“Eno Ama Serwaa, my beloved grandmother I won’t let you down. You raised me into this wonderful person I am today. I will stay strong and impact society to honour you,” he said.
The one week celebration will be at Sepe Buokrom next week Wednesday.
