Alan’s credibility alone makes him a perfect candidate for NPP Flagbearer – Fmr NPP MP
Former Member of Parliament(MP) for Manhyia North Constituency Hon Collins Owusu Amankwah has said the credibility of New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential candidate aspirant Mr. John Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen alone is enough for him to lead the party.
According to him, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) currently needs somebody who is clean, a candidate who can be considered credible by Ghanaians to have confidence in him and vote for and not someone with a disputed character.
“The Good thing is that Alan Kyerematen alone is a message to the NPP. Mr Alan Keyematen over the years has demonstrated a good character in this country. His credibility is not in doubt; very credible personality. How can one think of linking him with bad character?” Hon Collins Owusu Amankwah quizzed on Hello FM in an interview monitored by MyNewsGH.com.
“He is a very competent politician”, he added.
He also noted that Mr Alan Kyerematen has been a good servant who never disappointed under both Former President Kufuor and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo when he was given the opportunity to work in their governments hence he must be made the flagbearer of the NPP.
“Former President gave him a job and he has praised him since, President Akufo also offered him a job and he has praised him to date. He is a man of substance, a man of integrity”, Mr Collins Owusu Amankwa told King Edward De Slave on Hello FM.
Mr Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen after serving in the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo’s government for almost six years resigned to pursue his ambition of becoming the next President of the Republic by contesting in the NPP Presidential Primaries which is yet to be held.
The Former Trade Minister will contest the flagbearership race with other people of the governing NPP including MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, former Energy Minister; Boakye Agyarko, former Agric Minister; Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, former General Secretary Kwabena Agyapong and Mr Addai Nimo.
Many prominent people in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have also tipped Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for the position though he has not yet officially made his intentions known.
