The Black Stars will go into their much touted 2025 AFCON qualifying game against Sundan with full house as some players who were sidelined by injuries in the team's last two games are returning to action.
Fernabache's strong defender Alexander Djiku, Olympic Marseille's Ernest Nuamah as well as dependable left back Gideon Mensah missed the previous AFCON qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
The Black Stars lost 1-0 to the Angolans in Kumasi before drawing 1-1 against Niger in their second Group F duel.
The Stars are gearing up for Sudan on Thursday 10th October, 2024 at the Accra Sports Stadium and a return fixture on 15th October in Benghazi. There are no injury concerns for Coach Otto Addo this time round.
The coach on Friday 4th October 2024 announced a 25-man squad for the upcoming fixture, maintaining the core players like goalkeepers Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Jojo Wollacot and Frederick Asare.
Thomas Partey, Muhammed Kudus, Inaki Williams, Jordan Ayew, Antonne Semenyo, Majeed Ashimeru, Fatawu Issahaku and Alidu Seidu who scored for the Black in the 1-1 draw against Niger in Morocco are all part of the squad.
Aside Kotoko's Frederick Asare, another home based player, Isaac Afful has made the squad for the game ahead.
The Samartex 1996 FC left back has had a consistent performance in the local scene helping his side to win the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League and qualifying for the CAF Champions League. He is expected to make his debut for Stars when they come face to face with Coach Kwasi Appiah and his Sudanese team.
