The Paramount Chief of Dormaa, Dormaahene Osagyefo Dr. Agyemang Badu II, has criticised the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for allegedly prioritizing his luxurious lifestyle over the welfare of his people.
According to the Dormaahene, he will never allow his people to go through hardships while he personally embarks on trips using private jets and acquiring properties abroad for his own interest.
“I will never hire private jets or use my money to buy properties abroad while my people are suffering. I will never do such a thing,” he said.
Osagyefo Agyemang Badu II, while addressing his people, further said that the Asantehene’s comments about Bono chiefs being violent in nature are inappropriate.
According to him, a leader of his caliber, prominence and one who is highly revered by people in the country, should not make comments that are deemed disrespectful.
He added that such comments could breed divisiveness and conflict among traditional leaders.
“If you say someone is engaged in violence, haven’t you insulted the person? We are telling him that statement he made about the Bono chiefs being violent, he should never repeat it again.
“… For someone of his prominence, he shouldn’t have attributed Bono chiefs and the Techimanhene to violence at all,” he said.
