NDC Must Monitor Mahama and Kufuor – Moshake

A former executive member of the Tema East constituency branch of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Stephen Ashitey aka Moshake has advised that the party includes strict monitoring of the movements and actions of former president John Agyekum Kufuor and the party’s flagbearer, John Mahama.

In a write up published on social media, he explains that this monitoring activity is key to the party’s election winning strategy because it will enable it detect and then neutralize in real time, any sabotaging moves by the two.

“It is simple, John Mahama takes advice from Kufuor who does not have the NDC at heart, and so a tight monitoring of their activities and movements will put the NDC in opposition to know whenever Kufuor issues advice that will hurt the fortunes of the party which will then put us in position, so we can neutralize it,” Moshake wrote.

And for this to work, Moshake advocates that a small unit be created within the party to constantly track the movements of John Mahama.

The statement which was published over the weekend has since been receiving support by some faithful of the NDC party who have vowed that everything must be done to ensure that former President Kufuor does not foil elections for NDC again.

These party faithful apparently became indignant when Moshake reiterated that the 2016 elections had been lost by the NDC which was then in power because of miscalculated policies and utterances by John Mahama.

These policies and utterances, he wrote, were made by John Mahama under the coaching of his political godfather, Kufuor.

“It was Kufuor who told Maham to cancel the teacher and nursing trainee allowances; it was the same Kufuor who told John Mahama to go and say that he has the dead goat syndrome,” Moshake wrote.

He pointed out that, “these irresponsible policies and statements were the ones that destroyed the NDC’s chances of maintaining power in 2016.”

And unfortunately for the NDC, Moshake lamented, John Mahama has begun making the blunders again.

“Where is the irresponsible claim that the students who sat for WASCCE in 2023 were allowed to copy and cheat? From Kufuor whom Mahama is still listening to!” Moshake wrote.

Meanwhile, the former constituency executive lamented that the sabotaging behaviour that Mahama is putting up could have been prevented if the NDC had earlier listened to him.

“I warned that we should elect anyone else to lead us but not John Mahama but the party wouldn’t listen, NDC doesn’t have a listening ear at all.” Moshake wrote.
