‘Cobra’ hitmaker Obaapa Gladys wants to collaborate with Shatta Wale
The rising star in Ghana, Obaapa Gladys, celebrated for her hit track “Cobra,” has openly expressed her admiration for Dancehall King Shatta Wale and even expressed her desire to collaborate with him on a song.
In an interview with MX24 TV, Obaapa Gladys, who affectionately calls herself “Shatta Cobra,” praised Shatta Wale for his recent victory at the Ghana Music Awards UK 2023, where he clinched all five awards he was nominated for. She further stated that she would be thrilled to meet Shatta Wale in person once he returns from the United Kingdom.
“He is the one in charge of my videos. God bless him, and I commend Shatta Wale for winning awards recently. I am so happy for him. When he arrives in the country, I and my supporters will meet him at the airport. I would love to do a collaboration with him. ” she said.
Her son, who goes by the name Junior Shatta Cobra, conveyed his gratitude to Shatta Wale for his efforts in promoting the “Cobra” song across his social media platforms.
The track “Cobra” was produced by Fred Kyei Mensah and performed by Obaapa Gladys. It was initially composed in 2022 and officially released in early 2023, but it remained relatively unknown until October 2023 when it started gaining traction on TikTok.
The song swiftly garnered popularity, both on and off social media, and even drew the attention of well-known figures, including Shatta Wale and Nana Ama McBrown.
