Mark Zuckerberg dismisses Elon Musk, shifts focus from fighting
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has stated that he is moving on from the rumored cage fight with Tesla CEO Elon Musk, claiming that Musk “isn’t serious” about the proposed clash.
The idea of a fight between the two tech billionaires had been circulating for months, with Musk suggesting it and Zuckerberg unexpectedly responding that he was ready to take on the challenge.
Zuckerberg revealed that Musk failed to agree on a date for the fight and instead proposed doing a practice round in his backyard. Zuckerberg offered a legitimate date and even UFC boss Dana White offered to organize a charity competition. However, Musk’s lack of seriousness and commitment led Zuckerberg to decide to move on from the idea.
In a text conversation screenshot posted by Musk on Twitter, Zuckerberg wrote that Musk should either commit to the fight soon or they should move on from the idea. Musk replied that he would be in Palo Alto and suggested fighting in a makeshift “Octagon.” He also humorously mentioned that he hadn’t been practicing much and considered the likelihood of his victory against Zuckerberg quite low due to their size difference.
The back-and-forth banter between the two tech titans had sparked interest and speculation in the past, but it appears that the much-anticipated cage fight is not likely to become a reality.
