Akufo-Addo’s administration marked as Ghana’s most ‘wasteful’ - Franklin Cudjoe

Franklin Cudjoe, the President and Founder of IMANI Africa, has criticized the Nana Addo Akufo-Addo-led government, labeling it as the most expensive and wasteful in Ghana’s history.

He made these remarks in response to a report by the Daily Graphic, which highlighted that 22 district assemblies had spent GH¢2.4 million to collect only GH¢1.3 million in revenue.

Taking to his Facebook page on August 15, 2023, Cudjoe expressed that the Daily Graphic’s findings did not surprise him, given what he sees as the current government’s mismanagement of the country’s economy. He lamented the poor state of the Ghanaian economy and linked it to what he views as the excessive spending and inefficiencies of the government.

In his Facebook post, he stated, “Daily Graphic reports, 22 District Assemblies spend GH¢2.4m to collect GH¢1.3m revenue. No surprises here – we have the biggest, most expensive, and wasteful gov’t in Ghana’s history, which has left us in debt and in death.”
