Stop moving from church to church, it won’t help – NDC’s Ayariga tells Bawumia
A Deputy National Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has chastised the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, for hopping from one church to the other when the economy is in tatters.
Osman Ayariga says Dr Bawumia’s recent adoption of moving from church to church will not help him.
He says the Vice President should just admit failure in managing the economy.
Mr Ayariga was speaking on TV3‘s New Day on Wednesday, May 10.
“He should stop moving from church to church. It won’t help him.”
But a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kofi Tontoh, who was also on the programme, took none of the statement made by the NDC official.
“Do you think the Vice President just wakes up and goes to the church?” he quizzed.
He cited how Dr Bawumia was once invited by the Obuasi Diocese of the Methodist church while he was with him.
“Are you telling me that if the Vice President is invited to a church, he shouldn’t go?”
The Government Spokesperson insists that Dr Bawumia has attracted love from the church because of “his unity and his inclusiveness”.
For him, the NDC are just uncomfortable the Vice President is making inroads in the church.
“It’s all about politics for [the NDC]. The Vice President is not a Christian. Has he formed a church?”
