Nyantakyi unable to account for Glo millions

The Ghana Football Association, GFA, does not know what happened to more than $1million paid by Nigerian telecommunication network, Glo, according to report. gathered that Glo paid the amount to the GFA as compensation after the company pulled out from a three-year sponsorship deal it had signed with the football governing body in 2009.

What is more, the GFA can’t find documents to explain what it spent the huge sums of money on, the report says.
Our findings established that the outgoing administration, led by beleaguered Kwesi Nyantakyi can’t account for the money which was expected to be shared among premier league clubs.

The missing records raise new questions about how the erstwhile administration handled funds of the national teams and sponsorship deals that were signed with corporate agencies.

‘Nyantakyi Is In Stable Mind’

But the report says the missing records make it impossible to conduct a complete accounting of what happened to the funds.

Mr Nyantakyi was filmed allegedly accepting a cash gift from an undercover journalist, a move that breaches FIFA’s code of ethics.

He allegedly took $65,000 (£48,000) from an undercover Tiger Eye PI investigator pretending to be a businessman.

Following the investigations, Anas petitioned FIFA to ban Nyantakyi from all football-related activities for life but with investigations ongoing, Nyantakyi has decided to resign.

The Attorney General has since proceeded to court to secure an order to dissolve the GFA.
