Former president of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi, has unreservedly apologized to President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for associating them with corruption in a private conversation which was captured in a documentary by Tiger Eye PI.
“I hereby apologise unreservedly to father of the nation, President Akufo-Addo, the Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Ministers of State for indiscretion in associating them with the private conversation in the video.
“I wish to clarify that under no time prior to or subsequent to any deliberations on the video did I consult, contact or inform any government official about discussions in the video
“I take sole and personal responsibility for the proceedings in the video.â€
He added: “I wish to apologise to my family, work colleagues, friends, associates and the people of Ghana for the disappointment my indiscretion has caused them. This is by no means an admission of wrong doing for issues on the videoâ€, Mr. Nyantakyi said in a statement sent to the GFA General Secretary on Friday.
Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi in a meeting with undercover agents who posed as ‘investors’, disclosed how from small beginnings, he and his ‘investor’ friends could ‘take over’ Ghana with their money.
“You can start with something small in your own discretion, then when you get the contract; the big big contract, we can go back and give them more money, then we will take over the whole country,†Mr. Nyantakyi told the ‘investors’ in the video released by Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
The video which captures the GFA President is another incriminating evidence confirming the allegations against him.
