Match Report: Partey and Boateng inspire Black Stars to victory over Japan

Thomas Partey and Emmanuel Boateng were on target as Ghana defeated Japan 2-0 in Yokohama on Wednesday morning.

Partey, who captained the Black Stars scored as early as the 8th minute with a beautiful struck free kick on the edge of the box.

Japan, however, regained their composure and began to create some problems for the Ghanaians.

In form goalkeeper, Richard Ofori made some impressive saves especially on the 35th minute when he pulled off a stunning save to deny Keisuke Honda the equalizer.

Ghana were awarded a penalty in the 51st minute for a foul on Emmanuel Boateng.

The promising forward picked himself up and converted from the spot to register his first international goal on his debut appearances

However, Bayern Munich youngster Akwasi Okyere made his international bow for Ghana in the 82nd to after coming on to replace Boateng.

The Black Stars will next face Iceland in another friendly on June 7.
