Dansoman based Liberty Professionals will strongly battle Ebusua Dwarfs and Tamale City in an all-play-all competition as the Ghana Football Association (GFA) seek replacement for AshantGold SC who has been demoted to Division Two for match fixing.
The Executive Committee of the GFA arrived at this decision in their recent meeting. Tamale City placed second in Zone One where Nsoatreman FC emerged Champions. Ebusua Dwarfs were also runners up to Sarmatex FC in Zone Two of the Division One League.
Liberty Professionals fought doggedly with Kotoku Royals for qualification from Zone Three. They were tied on points with the Akyem Oda based side but superior goals separated them.
After miising the chance to play in the Ghana Premier League next season, these three teams have been presented with another opportunity to seek premiership birth.
The venue is yet to be determined by the GFA but from all indications it will be battle for supremacy. Both Dwarfs and Liberty have Premier League experience. They were relegated into Division One two seasons and are knocking the doors with all effort to re-enter the Premier League.
Tamale City also lost narrowly to Nsoatreman in a crucial decider at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium three weeks ago. They will certainly move mountains to secure their first ever premier league qualification.
