Kotoko sign top Ugandan striker

League Champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko have secured the service of prolific striker Mukwala Steven Dese from Uganda. The striker who joined Kotoko on a free transfer has signed a two year deal with the Porcupine Warriors.

Asante Kotoko are leaving no stone unturned in their attempt to conquer in all competitions next season. Consequently, they are bringing on board quality players to augment their set-up.

The Porcupines has lost some key players after exhibiting a brave show to win the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League and thus qualify for the CAF Champions League.

Brazilian attacker Fabio Gama has left the Porcupine fold after an impressive two years stay in Kumasi. Intelligent offensive midfielder Mudasiru Salifu has joined Sherrif FC in Moldova after assisting Kotoko to a truimphant season.

Some players have also moved to other local clubs after the successful season. The management and technical staff of Kotoko are making every effort to get good replacement for the transferred players.

Since their decision to sign striker Mukwala to strengthen the Kotoko attacking machinery. Mukwala is happy to have joined a club like kotoko and has promised his best to the team.

“I knew Kotoko way back so I am happy to don their jersey finally. I’m here with a purpose to offer my best and help Kotoko go places next season especially in the CAF Champions League” he noted.

Mukwala is the third Uganda player to have joined Kotoko in the last decade after Joseph Ochaya and Abege. He is expected to team up with Cameroonian imports Frank Mbella Etouga and Mfegue to bang in the goals for Kotoko.
