Koo Fori exposes ‘juju’ patrons in movie industry

Samuel Seth Kwabena Kyere Karikari better known as Koo Ofoi has stated clearly that the practice of juju and pull him down syndrome are the cause of near collapse of Ghana’s movie industry.

In a one on one with Abeiku Sanata on UTV’s Atuu, the talented actor lamented over the back biting going on in the industry.

“Ghana movie is not doing well, because upcoming actors are not humble and use juju to stay relevant in the industry.

“Others actors who are super talented are also sidelined because of political affiliations, which is very unfair. Mind you, movie enthusiasts have their own favourites, the moment that particular character stops appearing in movies, their fans find alternatives and it eventually affect the industry.

“Mr. Beautiful for instance was vilified for going public for a political party and struggles to land roles and I find that really unfair. These things must stop if we indeed want the industry to progress,” he asserted.

He also added that unlike Bollywood and Hollywood, who get huge financial support from government, Ghanaian movies directors have to go looking for funding themselves and they don’t get as much as they need to pump into the sector.

He admonished upcoming actors to appreciate fans and stay humble if they want to go far in their career.
