Students at the St. Monica’s College of Education in the Ashanti region were made to believe the controversial kissing of the three girls was just a “holy kiss†by the Priest Rev. Fr Obeng Larbi, that was an account by a third-year student( name withheld).
Speaking to Bonohene Baffour Awuah Tuesday, on Ghana Kasa on Kasapa 102.5 Fm, the student said the incident happened the last Sunday when the third-year students were preparing to leave campus for their teaching practice.
She claimed Father Obeng Larbi of the Anglican Church decided to reward devout Bible readers with the so-called “holy kiss†while others had received some packages including certificates.
“He first kissed our chaplain and I must say he really swerved us with that spectacle because we really didn’t see that coming and were unable to capture that on video. However, the subsequent ones were bible readers who were allegedly appreciated by Father with a holy kiss for their years of service in school as Bible readers.
“You might have seen from the footage going round that the third girl who the Reverend Father kissed was actually a virgin and she deliberately masked up so that Father will just give her a peck but the Father resisted and forced her to remove the face mask for him to kiss her.â€
The video has generated wide condemnation on social media, although some have jumped to the Reverend father’s defence.
Meanwhile, a statement by the Anglican church said the Church is saddened by the development, and investigations into the incident have started and appropriate sanctions will apply.
