Kendrick accepts his Pulitzer Prize in New York

The rapper was honoured with the Pulitzer Prize for Music for his amazing album DAMN.

It was recognised during a ceremony at Columbia University in New York City and he is the first non-classical or jazz artist to receive the honour.

Which is a an amazing achievement.

His album was called a “virtuosic song collection unified by its vernacular authenticity that offers affecting vignettes capturing the complexity of modern African American life.”

That’s almost exactly word for word what we said after our first listen.

Sadly Kendrick didn’t give a speech but did pose for a photo with actress and activist Mia Farrow and her journalist son Ronan.
