Movie producer Ola Michael believes Ghanaians deserve a sincere apology from President Akufo-Addo over the current state of affairs in the country.
“It takes a man of integrity to admit his fault and apologized to Ghanaians as former president John Agyekum Kufuor did,†the producer intimated.
Ola Michael, recounting the sins of the NPP under the leadership of Akufo-Addo stressed that, it was unthinkable for a government to relent on efforts to recoup the billions of Ghana cedis, wasted according to records from the Public Account Committee (PAC) and decide to go for a bailout from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
“Over 14 billion go waste according to Public Accounts Committee (PAC). It beats my imagination why government is not keen to plug those loopholes, but rather turns to IMF for 2 billion,†he alarmed.
He added that, he is disappointed over the fact that President Akufo-Addo in the current hardship decided to pull down structures in a prime area in Accra at huge cost to the state to erect a cathedral.
“When another president from the same NPP, wanted to build affordable houses for tax payers, he went to the outskirts of Kumasi, Asokore Mampong. This move has attracted people to develop the area. Now go and see Asokore Mampong. Here we are with a president who would rather destroy structures at a cost to the nation and import corner stone from Isreal to build a cathedral,†Ola Michael retorted.
The movie producer observed that considering the misplaced expenses that has landed the country in crisis require that he come out publicly to apologize to Ghanaians.
