I Did Not Listen to Bawumia’s Stale Economic Speech – Asiedu Nketia

I did not listen to vice president Mahamadu Bawumia’ speech on government negotiations with IMF and our economy because I have lost trust in him Johnson Asiedu Nketia has said.

Sharing his views on a wide range of issues and governance, on the current affairs show ‘The Pulse’, the General Secretary of the opposition, NDC, posited that Vice president Bawumia and his Economic team have lost their integrity.

” Experts in the country and seasoned politicians issued red flags over certain policies and their approach to governance but they did not listen to us. They consequently run us into a ditch and expect us to listen to his economic speech to what end?

“They do not admit they have caused the economic mess of this country and hence calls for them to apologize to Ghanaians will not happen. Bawumia and his team are acting like the donkey who insisted the color of grass is blue and was calling for everyone to follow him to the Lion King to argue his claim. I don’t argue with such people,” Asiedu Nketia intimated.

The seasoned politician added that the very set of economic managers who led the country into this mess cannot be trusted to liberate us.

“He shouldn’t be there at all. He must be sacked. Austerity measures that would come with IMF conditionalities will plunge us into a more harsh situation. So we need a new set of team the people trust to revive our economy,” Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia observed.
