Go, going, gone! – NPP to expel Nyaho-Tamakloe

Credible report reaching suggests the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is taking steps to expel Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, who is accused by party leaders of clandestinely campaigning for the opposition NDC in the 2016 elections.

Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe, a renowned physician and former Ghana’s Ambassador to Serbia and Montenegro has remained a harsh critic of his party during and after the general elections.

He believes the party has abandoned its political ideology, which has been the bedrock of the party since its reformation in 1992.

Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe is on record to have labeled the recently elected National Chairman of the party, Freddie Blay, as imposter and made it clear he was not going to grant him the audience he deserves as the leader of the party.

Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe argues that the former member of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) who crossed carpet in 2010 is not a loyal member of the party, and therefore, would not recognize him as the party’s chair.

In his opinion, the election of Mr Blay as chairman of the party, legitimizes the unpardonable removal of two former executives, Kwabena Agyei Agyapong and Paul Afoko.

“If Freddie Blay is truly committed as a politician, then he should have fixed the issues in the CPP, instead of resigning to join the NPP. He’s just an opportunist,” he added.

Our source said the intended action of the national executives is informed by Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe’s blatant “sabotage” and “undermining the existence of the party”.

The source, who is privy to series of meetings on the matter, contended that disciplinary action would also be taken against recalcitrant members, who continuously bring the name of the party into disrepute.

Asked why the party has taken too long to react, the source said party leaders have made several overtures to Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe to amicably settle any disagreement, but he remains adamant and have persistently rebuffed their efforts.

The source further gave a broad indication that the disciplinary proceedings against the latter would be fast-tracked, to douse potential media propaganda.
