Ghana music industry is trash – M.anifest

Ghanaian rapper, Kwame Ametepee Tsikata, better known as M.anifest has described Ghana’s music industry as substandard.

The sensational rapper argued that the local music industry lacks innovations and hence completely useless.

He posited that the sector lacks infrastructure and there is no clear cut structures for the various music governing bodies in the country.

He further added that, the reasons why most musicians fizzle out of the system is because of lack of proper structures.

“The music industry is crap, it is trash, it is not consistent and unable to support itself,” he said on Citi FM on Wednesday.

“There is a clear infrastructure problem that makes revenue streams quite narrow; so people are not making money from music.

“People don’t get royalties from music and lastly the industry players are undervalued; and musicians are partly to be blamed for this,” he explained.

M.anifest will be releasing his latest single ‘Okay’ on Friday, 10th August, 2018.
