Ex-Black Stars players rally support for team

Former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan wants Ghanaians to have full confidence in Coach Otto Addo and his team ahead of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Just like him, some other ex players of the Black Stars like Fatau Dauda, Sulley Muntari and Agyemang Badu are also calling for support for the current team particularly those who have switched nationality to do don the Ghana national team jersey.

“The team can only achieve their target except they get the backing of Ghanaians and so it’s important we all come together and put our shoulders to the wheels” said Asamoah Gyan.

The wind blowing around the Black Stars four months to their fourth world cup is amazing. For the first time five Ghanaian players born abroad – Inaki Williams, Tariq Lamptey, Stephen Ambrosius, Rashford Yeboah and Patrick Pfeffer have agreed to play for the Black Stars.

It may be recalled twelve years ago Kevin Prince Boateng switched nationality from Germany to join the Black Stars team to the South Africa 2010 world cup. He had an amazing tournament and scored one goal to his credit.

Ghanaians are counting on the newly arrived players together with Salisu Mohammed to emulate the great impact of Kevin Prince Boateng and even do more.

Fatau Dauda who was in post against Portugal during the 2014 world cup is hopeful Inaki and his colleagues will succeed with the necessary support. He sees a good chance for the Black Stars to make progress in the tournament.
