Basketball Enthusiasts Storm El-Wak Stadium as Spintex Knights Dominate Tusk in Week 3 Clash
Retired basketball stars, seasoned coaches, active players, and lovers of the game trooped to the El-Wak Sports Stadium on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, for the highly anticipated Week 3 Division One matchup between the Spintex Knights and Tusk.
The much hyped encounter, heavily promoted by both teams across their social media platforms, lived up to expectations as fans were thoroughly entertained not just by the on-court action but also by the lively Spintex Knights jama group that kept the energy levels high.
For the first time since the commencement of the Division One League, the Knights started strong, taking a commanding lead in the first quarter with a 21-10 scoreline.
Their dominance continued into the second quarter, widening the gap to an impressive 44-14 by halftime.
The defending champions showed no signs of slowing down after the break, crushing Tusk’s comeback hopes with a 54-29 score at the end of the third quarter.
The Knights wrapped up the game in style, sealing a 67-44 victory marking their third consecutive win in the league, and maintaining their position at the top of the table.
Spintex Knights’ Yakubu Abdul Aziz was named Player of the Game, contributing 8 points, 8 rebounds, and 1 steal to his team’s success.
Head Coach Salorm Thomas praised his team’s effort but emphasized the need for continued improvement:
"we have a lot of work to do because we are the target of every team. We played against an opponent that wanted to win and pressed hard on us, but we were able to pull through with the experience we have and our game pattern."
