    Farrakhan Shaaban Mohammed and Foster Doevi to Elevate the National Cycling Road Championship After UCI Training

    The cycling community is buzzing with excitement as Farrakhan Shaaban Mohammed of River Park Eastern Region Cycling Club in Oda and Foster Doevi, affectionately known as "Bullet," of Gladiators Cycling Club in Accra gear up for the National Cycling Championship on 30th November 2024.

    Both athletes, fresh from the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Athlete Development Program in Cape Town, South Africa, are set to infuse their refined skills and competitive strategies into the championship. This prestigious event promises to showcase the best of Ghanaian cycling talent.

    Since 2014, six Ghanaian athletes—five males and one female—have benefited from the UCI Athlete Development Program through the Ghana Cycling Federation. The beneficiaries include:

    Anthony Boafo Boakye Dankwa (River Park BA Cycling Club)

    AbdulRazak Umar (Die Hard)

    Frank Awuku David Akuffo (The Boss Tribe Cycling Club)

    Clementina Ayoung (River Park GT Accra Cycling Club)

    Farrakhan Shaaban Mohammed (River Park Eastern Cycling Club)

    Foster Doevi (Gladiators Cycling Club)

    The championship will also feature notable participants, including 2023 national champion Michael Naaba (FCG Cycling Club), Prince Kudufia (Team Epic), Emmanuel Sesi (Royal Stars, Volta Region), AbdulMajeed Sandah (Rainbow Cycling Club, Junior Men’s Gold Medalist), and Erica Sedzro (Club Sky Team, Women’s Elite Gold Medalist).

    This year’s event will take place at the Vicolis Olebu Ablekuma Pokuasi Route, promising to set a new benchmark for cycling in Ghana. Motorists are advised to adhere to traffic control measures as the police ensure safety and order.
