2024 Elections: Mercy Asiedu urges creative arts industry to support Mahama
Renowned Kumawood actress, Mercy Asiedu has openly supported flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress John Dramani Mahama for the next presidential election.
Speaking at a Mahama-sponsored gathering to get feedback from the creative community, Mercy Asiedu emphasized John Mahama’s impact on the creative sector during his tenure as former President.
Among these contributions were vehicles given to some key industry figures, which she believes significantly helped their career endeavors.
She said that many entertainers’ businesses were improved by Mahama’s support and she expressed confidence that the industry will profit even more from a return to power.
She urged her colleagues and fans to consider Mahama’s past contributions when casting their votes in the upcoming elections.
“It is through his good ways that some people in the creative arts industry felt good. Some who had no cars got cars, so I beg you, let’s rally support for Mahama. He will do it because he has done it before,” Mercy Asiedu urged in the video below.
As part of his plans to improve the creative arts sector, John Mahama has proposed the establishment of a special TV channel for the sector.
He has also outlined some 22 policies for the sector if he assumes office as the next president.
John Mahama will be competing against Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the NPP’s flagbearer and other candidates in the upcoming December 7 elections.
