Bawumia Will Beat Mahama in Any Election – Tema MCE

The Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive and Parliamentary Candidate for Tema East NPP, Yohane Amarh Ashitey, has stated that the brilliant and hardworking Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will beat former president John Dramani Mahama in any election including a contest in Bole-Bamboi, John Mahama’s home town because Dr. Bawumia is a far better presidential material as compared to Mr. Mahama, who described himself as a dead goat.

The Tema MCE made this known to journalists on the sidelines of the funeral of the late Madam Rose Gyekyebea Odoi, alias Abena Rose, at Awukugua in the Eastern Region. The deceased, who took very good care of many people including Mr. Stephen Aboagye, hardworking second Vice Chairman of Tema East NPP and a special aide to the Tema MCE as well as a loyalist of Dr. Bawumia, was eulogized by many mourners at the well-attended funeral.

Yohane Amarh Ashitey, who was the cynosure of attention, with the mourners, especially the youth of Awukugua, mobbing him when he arrived for the funeral said “How can you journalists ambush me at a funeral and fire questions on the chances of Dr. Bawumia as against John Mahama in the 2024 presidential election?

“I and my constituency chairman, Nene Ofoe Teye-chu Agbadiagba and others are here to mourn with our very good friend, Stephen Aboagye, and his family but let me make it clear to you that Dr. Bawumia’s great achievements as Vice President, His vision for the nation and Godfearing nature have won him the 2024 election in advance”.

“What the 2020 election results revealed is that Ghanaians are not happy with the Akufo Addo government and that is why parliament got split, because some NPP MPs were rejected in favour of NDC MPs. However, when it comes to the presidential election, John Mahama lost by half a million votes because some Ghanaian voters were not enthused with Akufo Addo but preferred him because he is far better than John Mahama. This same tired John Mahama brand power is what the NDC’s 2024 presidential ticket is carrying and from what we are seeing, even if the elections were only between John Mahama and Nene Ofoe Teyechu Agbadiagba IV, my hardworking constituency chairman, Nene would win hands-down because most Ghanaians do not want Mahama back”. Yohane Amarh Ashitey said.

According to him, the overwhelming feeling is that most people prefer the NPP government under Dr. Bawumia because of what they saw under Mr. John Mahama’s poor governance of the country. What annoys me the most is that, John Mahama has been repeating the same mistakes he made in 2016 and 2020 elections.

“His policies are not ambitious enough, you would think that for someone whom Akufo Addo beat with the ambitious free SHS promise, he would learn to also swing for the fence a little, but no, he is talking about an amorphous 24-Hour Economy that has been pooh-poohed. In fact, Dr. Bawumia’s superior record of success is admired by Ghanaians and even in international circles. He will beat John Mahama in any election. Could you please allow me to give funeral donation?” the Tema MCE, who was flanked by his constituency chairman said.

On his part, Nene Ofoe Teye-chu Agbadiagba IV, Tema East NPP chairman who is also a manager at the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority said “News reporters, you have eaten into the Tema Mayor’s time over a general election that Dr. Bawumia has won in advance because of his brilliant performance as Vice President.

“I could see that all of you are impressed with the Tema Mayor’s answers to your political questions and that is why you clapped for Yohane Amarh Ashitey. In fact, I was also impressed but we didn’t come here for politics, we are here to mourn with Mr. Stephen Aboagye, my second vice chairman of Tema East NPP who has been very helpful and we love him,” Nene said.

“I like the way the next MP for Tema East and MCE thoroughly explained Dr. Bawumia’s 27-point agenda for his government and gave cogent reasons why former president Mahama lacks coherent policies. So I was not surprised when you journalists applauded Yohane Amarh Ashitey for his brilliant delivery. Infact, he has given all of us a very powerful political education on the 2024 presidential election between Dr. Bawumia and the incompetent John Mahama. See you news reporters and thanks,” Nene Ofoe Teye-chu Agbadiagba IV added.

The funeral ceremony was attended by many NPP gurus, national, regional, constituency and polling station executives as well as electoral area coordinators including Hon. Alfred Borkor, Nana Arhin Duah, Edward Baba and Eric Arthur.

Hon. Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover, hardworking Greater Accra Regional Minister and former MP for Tema East, Mr. Albert Boakye Okyere, Ashaiman MCE, Mr. Kwesi Labie, a financial secretary of NPP, Dorcas Adama, Barbara Addae, Mary Fynn, Ophelia Ampem, Abiba Abubakar and  Hanah Koomson, who are NPP activists, Prince Adotey, a staff of GPHA, Stephen Foli, a staff of GPHA, Olivia Appiah, a staff of TMA and Prince Amarh, a senior staff of TMA were among the respected dignitaries at the funeral.
