I won't be part of tactics to obstruct Bawumia’s election as President – Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu

Former Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has finally revealed the reason behind his sudden resignation describing it as the wisest choice he has ever made.

Speaking to journalists in Kumasi, the Suame MP disclosed that his main objective was to prevent discord within the majority faction in Parliament.

Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu emphasized that he holds no regrets regarding his resignation and is fully committed to ensuring the success of the party’s presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, in the upcoming 2024 election.

He stated, “The major project ahead of us is breaking the eight and the project that I believe in is getting [Dr. Mahamudu] Bawumia elected as the president of this country and I don’t want to be part of anything that will obstruct that or negatively impact that, I don’t want to be part of it. I don’t want to be the eye of the storm and so I think it was the best decision I took.”
