Dede Ayew sure of Black Stars success in Qater

Skipper Andre Dede Ayew is cocksure the Black Stars will live up to the billing in the upcoming Qater 2022 FIFA World Cup.

He has therefore urged soccer loving Ghanaians to have absolute confidence in Coach Otto Addo and the playing body that they have what it takes to make the nation proud.

The Black Stars made their maiden appearance at the FIFA World Cup in Germany 2006. Though they were drawn among top teams like Italy and Czech Republic, the Stars sailed through their group and got to the 1/16th stage.

Four years later in South Africa 2010, the Black Stars made history as the third African country to reach the quater finals of the FIFA World Cup after Cameroon and Senegal.

The Black Stars failed in their third world cup attempt in Brazil 2014 where the team got only a point after three games against USA, Germany and Portugal. The Stars missed out from the Russia 2018 World Cup.

This time round the Black Stars are in Group H together with Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea. Many have described it as a tricky group but Dede Ayew is positive they will excel.

For the first time the World Cup will commence in November and ends in December instead of the usual June – July.
