The Ayew brothers in the current Black Stars set up – Andre Dede Ayew and Jordan Ayew are looking confident ahead of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup. The duo are preparing adequately to inspire their side go places in the world’s prestigious tournament which starts in three months time.
Andre Dede Ayew made his debut in the Black Stars team under French Tactician Claude Le Roy during the CAN 2008. A year later he captained the national U -20 team, the Black Satellites to win for the first time the FIFA Youth Championship in 2009 in Egypt.
He had his first world cup experience in 2010 in South Africa where the Black Stars got to the quater finals. He was in Brazil for the 2014 world cup. He scored in Black Stars 2-1 defeat against USA in their opening group game.
He will be making his third world appearance in Qatar. This time round the son of soccer maestro Abedi Ayew Pele will wear the captain’s arm band and lead the team. He is targeting a semi finals berth with the Black Stars.
His younger brother, Jordan Ayew will be making his second FIFA World Cup appearance after the Brazil 2014 fiasco. Against Germany in their second group match in 2014, Jordan could have helped the Black Stars to kill the game after taking a 2-1 lead but for his selfish approach. The game eventually ended 2-2.
This time round the Crystal Palace striker has improved remarkably and will definitely show maturity upfront when the Black Stars meet Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea in Group H.
