Amoako Baah hints of ‘bad blood’ between Adwoa Safo and NPP

A political analyst and a member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Amoako Baah has blamed the presidency and the NPP leadership for the humiliation the embattled Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya suffered in her confrontation with the School Feeding Programme coordinator.

He said the decision for the MP who is also the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection to hold the party to ransom stems from the humiliation, she suffered at the hands of the presidency in the matter of the widow of the late Courage Quashigah, who is currently the National Coordinator of the Ghana School Feeding Programme, Gertrude Quashigah.

“It is not as if I support what Adwoa Safo is taking the party through but the party also stands to be blamed for the situation”, he stated.

He noted that the issue is not about Adwoa Safo nor Kennedy Agyapong who is seeking to antagonized the sitting MP on the matter of her long absence from Parliament leading to the party’s failure to garner the numbers for the passage of the controversial E-levy.

Dr. Amoako Baah laid the blame on the party leadership and presidency in an interview on the Ghana Yensom morning show on Accra 100.5 FM on Wednesday, February 23, 2022.

According to him, the MP is bitter and nobody seems to be speaking for her in the matter of her humiliation and tussle with Mrs. Getrude Quashigah.

He questioned how Adwoa Safo will be expected to work with the National Coordinator of the School Feeding Programme after the humiliation she suffered at the behest of the presidency.

Adwoa Safo had sacked Mrs Quashigah in her capacity as Minister. Shortly after the news got to the presidency, she was allegedly ordered to rewrite a letter to reinstating Mrs Quashigah which she did.

Ms Safo has since being on leave and has been absent from parliament for more than 15 days at a time the NPP needs all its members to pass the controversial e-levy.

According to some NPP stalwarts, Ms Safo is holding the party to ransom.

It is alleged that she wants to be made the deputy majority leader before she accepts to come to parliament to shore up the Majority number in the house to vote for the passage of the E-levy.
