President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has signed the book of condolence for Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom.
President Akufo-Addo was the first to sign the book of condolence opened at the British High Commission in Accra on Monday, 12 September 2022.
He said: “I remember her presence and her friendliness. It is sad, we all have to go. It is sad that she is gone”.
The British High Commissioner to Ghana, Harriet Thompson had announced that the book of condolence will be opened from 11am on Monday.
The Queen died on Thursday, 8 September 2022, at the Balmoral Castle, her estate in the Scottish Highlands
She was 96.
She was the longest reigning British Mornarch who reigned for 70 years.
