Akufo-Addo safe after convoy involved in crash

President Akufo-Addo has escaped unharmed after a vehicle in the presidential convoy was involved in an accident, according to reports.

Reports say the president and his entourage were travelling to the Brong Ahafo Region to begin his nationwide tour when they got involved in the crash at 1:45 am Friday morning in Konongo in the Ashanti Region.

The vehicle, which was involved in the crash, was occupied by Deputy Chief of Staff, Francis Asenso Boakye, has gathered.

He survived the near-fatal accident after an articulated truck ran into the presidential convoy when the driver refused to stop when he was signaled by the outriders.

One side of the vehicle he was traveling in was mangled after the crash.

Francis Asenso Boakye was rushed to the hospital and has been treated and discharged.

The Deputy Chief of Staff sustained minor injuries and is recovering.
