Singer, model, actress and songwriter, Adina Thembi Ndamse, better known as Adina has revealed that she is yet to overcome the butterfly effect from winning the Best Female Vocalist Award at the 2018 VGMA.
According to her, her feelings do not in any way mean she doesn’t deserve it, but she was aware that her category is tight and had a slim chance of winning.
The “Makoma†hit maker revealed this in an interview with Kojo Akoto Boateng on Citi TV’s ‘Saturday Live’ show.
“I was surprised when I won the female vocalist award, it is not because I didn’t think I deserved it but because of the other nominees of the list,†she disclosed.
“Last year, I also won the same award. So last year was like ‘Oh my goodness, really?’. But this year it was like ‘ok, all the people on the list were also working hard, I saw them…so it was encouraging to be picked among the lot on the list,†she said.
“I feel I have a responsibility to not let vocalists in Ghana down, but I am working on it to make sure I become a better version of myself every time,†she added.
The artistes who were nominated in the Best Female Vocalist of the Year category for 2018 VGMA were Nana Yaa, Efya, Mzvee and Becca.
